H A L L O W E E E E E N

Um, happy Halloween everyone. Jordan recently finished a series on homemade kid costumes and this one was my favorite. Also funny, this is her son.

In celebration of this day Josh and I are going to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. I'm excited because we have a coupon for a whole meal for free! I know, we are paaaarty animals. :p

Keep it safe out there my friends.

P.S. My friend, Lori, won my favorite halloween costume of the year via Instagram. She dressed up as Snow White and looked ever gorgeous doing it. Did you dress up? Fun times all around!

Sandy's Waste

Last night I felt guilty falling asleep, safe and sound, cozy, and with the window propped open for a slight breeze. Josh gently reminded me we have earthquakes on this side. We prayed for the East Coast and wondered what we would awake to.

Sandy sure is a deceptively kind name. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

P.S. I've been following @time on Instagram and @GovChristie on Twitter. Amazing photos and instant up-to-date info. Technology these days..

Fancy with a Touch of Gold and Whimsy

I was given CS6 for my bday (whatwhat) and have been happily playing around with it for weeks now. Therein lies my excuse for not posting yesterday. Whoopsies!

During a pause from making a second Christmas card (ridic, I know), I ran across these photos. Further confirming my obsession with white, black, gold, and light grey.

If I could have my dining room table look like this, I'd be one happy camper. Sorry, with all the chaos on my desktop right now, I have no idea where I found these photos. Apologies all around!

Here's my cheaper alternative to the white, gold, black, and grey situation, curiosity of the Nate Berkus line at Target.

As my girl would say, "fancy!"

P.S. This crisp weather is getting me all excited for the season. You, too?

Christmas Present Ideas, in October

Meandering through my favorite blogs last night. My eyes grew wide when I saw this, personalized games for kids!

And my favorite, the Memory Game! (remember that?)

A perfect Christmas present for a niece, nephew, son, daughter, cousin, or even yourself. :) Don't ya think?

Highlighting the Highlights

Today Aimee and Blane celebrate their one year anniversary. They have done more in one year than most couples do in five years! A little 2 x 3 to highlight their highlights. :)

God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

Last night we went to the basic of all basic yoga classes and today I feel like I've been hit by a big rig. Sad how far I've fallen.

I leave you for the week with these precious photos of my nephew, Cole.

Saw these beautiful photos at Architectural Digest. The landscaping is jaw-dropping, isn't it? The last photo, with those amazing trees, put me over.

Makes me want to take a slow, deep breath.

Have a beautiful one today.

Low/High - CRIBS

Not gonna lie, I did a lot of research on baby stuff while the sista was preggers. I found a lot of good cheap stuff and a lot of good expensive stuff. I love that there is something for everyone. And now that the whole world seems to be with child, I thought I'd share to maybe help cut down on the hours and hours (and hours and hours) of searching. Cribs!

Finishing Touches

I'm always curious how people spend their money. Are you like me?

Well, I spent my birthday money, and I spent it on finishing touches. What began as an inspired start in our bedroom, pretty much ended there and I have been dissatisfied with it since. I wasn't meaning to use my bday money, but then I came across these awesome lamps at TJMaxx Home Goods and they were a major steal ($40 each!) so I picked them up. Then I picked up some curtains from Ikea ($24.99 for two) and a big frame from there as well ($29.99). Well spent if you ask me!

Our pillow cases were on our wedding registry. Josh's mom embroidered "J loves Josh" and "Josh loves J" on each one and that's what we sleep on each night (sappy-ness ending here).

And a close-up of our new lamps! They are quite fancy. Frufru, I know.

The breakdown

Slowly and surely feeling more homey. Next up, the living room.

Weekend Recap

Visalia is and isn't exactly what we were expecting. We saw a few drive-thru Baskin Robbins (really!) and Sonics. The most touristy thing to do is tour the Sunmaid Factory and, no joke, on the freeway we passed a car with a woman holding a baby in the backseat.

But it was all A-okay when we walked into Jess' (friend) house and I was enveloped in a hug by her sorority mom with the smell of home cooking wafting from the kitchen. Even cooler, the family is big on UCLA and they kindly let Josh watch the entire USC game in their living room with his USC t-shirt on. Cool beans.

We went on the premise of a corn maze, but truthfully it was more for the company and to spend time with friends. It was an excellent weekend. The photos are in order, funnest on top!

 The corn maze

 Yup, really, really, tall corn.

Happy Monday the 15th. Tomorrow I'll show you what I spent my birthday money on. :)
Sending big hugs your way!

Corn Maze

Friday? Yeeps. Creeps up on ya when you have a short week.

This weekend Josh and I are doing something we have never done before. We're headed to Visalia, CA with friends to get lost in a corn maze. That's right, a maze made up of corn husks.

Apparently it's a big thing. I looked it up. Ten acres of really tall corn husks with only one way in and one way out. I get the feeling people in Idaho do this. (Sorry if you're from Idaho.)

Anyway, if we don't end up getting lost in there and dying, I'll tell you about it on Monday.

Hope your weekend brings you to something new too!

Zara Home

Zara just opened HOME! Online only, and get this, free shipping this entire month! I'm a big fan of their simple, defined lines and reasonable prices. I wasn't surprised to see the same look carried through to their home products.

This bedding is just too pretty.

But where they really nailed it, kid's bedding. Sleeping under a star comforter? Yes, please!

And I would have loved this colorful ensemble as a little girl.

So much more than this online. Happy shopping, shoppers.
