And By His Wounds, We Are Healed

Luke 24:1-12
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened that while they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling apparel; and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead? "He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again." And they remembered His words, and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles. And these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them. But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at that which had happened.
Mark 16:6
And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.
Romans 6:4
Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Blessed Easter!

Each Friday this guy gets to watch the trash man come and pick up the trash with my auntie. Lucky little guy.

And here he is giddy as ever...looking at himself in the mirror. :)

It's Good Friday and I don't have to work today. This week did its best to blow me over, so all I can think of is relishing in sleeping in, slowly getting out of bed, and staying in my pj's until I don't want to anymore.

Blessed Easter everyone!

All-Staff

Every other Wednesday we have an all staff meeting at work. Here's John talking to us about the sprit and how that pertains to our jobs. I've found myself in a season of learning and I am loving it. Nancy Ortberg sent me this quote this week, "It's always worth the battle to change an undesirable dynamic." Some food for thought.

Glad you made it over the week hump. Did you do it with grace? I'll admit parts I did and parts I didn't. :/ must. get. better. Have a wonderful Thursday!

The weather this weekend was perfect. I pretended it was summer and shaved my legs (gasp!), wore a dress, bought bags of fruit, laid out by the pool, and had a meal outside. It was a wonderfully lazy few days to which I will not utter one complaint.

This week my soul was fed by Sunday's message. Do you ever feel like the pastor is talking directly to you in a crowded room? Afterwards we took communion and the ritual stirred something in me.

May you and I never grow too old or hardened to be stirred by Him. Blessed Holy Week!

The little one has graduated to a high chair. :) Doesn't he look a little scared? A little, "uh, mom..what is this?" eek, so in love with this guy.

Hope your weekend is restful, and maybe, just maybe, has one moment where you laugh so hard you pee a little. :p

Googleplex

Last night Josh and I had a real treat. We live by Google, I drive by them on my way to work and pass them on my way home. Josh loves Google and follows their developments, we both own versions of their phone, and yet we have never been on their campus, until last night.

Did you know that Google provides gourmet meals for their employees? They also provide laundry services, have masseurs, trainers available in their gyms, and other sundry perks. My co-workers husband works at Google so they invited us for a meal, on Google!

Josh likened the food to college dorm food that was actually good and authentic. They had great Indian food, pizza, fish, Mexican, Vietnamese beef soup, burgers and fries, an amazing salad bar, and really great desserts. You can even take it to go!

We walked around the campus afterwards. It was fun and everyone looked our age, but really nerdy. :) Kinda like all the guys on The Big Bang Theory with more Koothrappali's and less Wolowitz's

Week's halfway done!

Daylight savings is a double edged sword. I love that it's lighter later but this is what my drive to work looks like.

11p.m. you mean? Exactly.

This weekend Josh and I rode the local train to see if it would be a viable commuting option for me. There's just something about trains that brings wonder and delight. The big ole' beast is simply fascinating.

An oldie but goodie to start our week:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For you are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

I'm back at it, mostly thanks to Josh. He turned into provider/cook/grocery shopper/cars taker care of/house cleaner/dish washer.

These are from the weekend before the shake down. The little Thumper lights up my world.

Hope you get to sleep in tomorrow too! Whoopie!

BRB

Friends, I am down for the count. Was feeling funny Saturday night and woke up Sunday with a blazing sore throat and a crummy body. Made it till noon today at work then came home and slept the afternoon away.

Josh met me with medicine, cuties, a thermometer, and lunch. Then he brought soup home for dinner. I'm so cared for. :)

I'll brb, until then, enjoy the beautiful weather for me!

Stay tuned!

The Little Big Man had a monumental week, he began solids!  I'm not sure how much he actually ingested as he was more interested in eating the spoon. :) But still, so exciting.

Josh and I will be in LA this weekend. I can't wait because I've missed this baby's momma. Plus there's a funeral and a wedding, an odd spectrum of events but we are looking forward to celebrating the joys and sorrows with those we love.

Have a relaxing and blissful weekend!

Check!

Oftentimes I think, what would I do without this guy? Yesterday I had to work. Josh could have slept in but he was up at the crack of dawn picking up bagels with me and then spent his whole afternoon helping me at work.

The rest of the evening consisted of cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the kitchen, mopping the floors, doing 5 loads of laundry, changing the sheets, and working out. Nothing noteworthy, but man, it felt so so good. Check, check, and check!

Have a beautiful start to the week friends.

This guy wins big for bringing some wonder into those who need a bit of wonder.

The next big thing that's captured Josh's interest.

And the remarkable innovation happening in the Bay.

That's all folks. I was supposed to work this weekend but the event got canceled. Free weekend here we come. Have a good one!
