Tile

The bathroom tile came in and it's going in this week.

The black and white pattern is the floor for the kids bathroom and the subway is for the shower walls. The rectangle basalt tiles are going in our master bathroom in a herringbone pattern.

In Good Hands

Landon has always been an affectionate guy but this last month or so he has taken it up a notch with me. Always kissing, hugging, laying on me. Touching me or needing to be right next to me.

I wonder if it's the baby?

He's also been the one person in the family who talks with the baby the most. This little girl is going to know Landon the most when she comes out. lol He's very affectionate with the baby too. Constantly kissing my stomach and telling the baby he loves her. Often feeding my stomach a bottle and such. If pregnancy is any indication of how he'll be with her, then sibling love is looking good.

I worry about him being the only boy but God has reassured me about that lately and opened my eyes to the men who love on him all the time.

And his #1

He is in good hands.

Pool House Update

Drywall is going in.

Also I never realized that behind those huge fireplaces was just a tiny tube. ha

Our architect is incredibly meticulous about design details. For instance, see those cans? He had the electrical guys come back out and move them after he measured and noticed they were an inch off center. Then our project manager asked Kelvin to move the shower heads a quarter of an inch to the right so they would be centered as well. All of this to say, I appreciate the crazy.

Hopes and Day Dreams

Later this year we are flying to Mississippi to spend time with my aging grandma and my moms side of the family. Josh is really looking forward to all the food. ha

But the other day another pregnant mom from Emerson's class mentioned in an email that her and her husband were going on a babymoon for their to-be fourth child. I don't know why but it never occurred to me that babymoon's can happen for all children not just before the first.. but WHY NOT? So in a very subtle (very me) way I forwarded Josh the email and wrote BABYMOON!?!

This is what he texted me.

Laughing and crying inside. lol

The kids got their flu shots today. Both did well, no crying, no whining. But the icing on the cake was the unsolicited support they gave one another.

In theory if they keep this up I wouldn't really need a babymoon..right?

A month ago Josh's bachan (dad's mom) peacefully passed away and a few days ago we said goodbye to Josh's grandpa (mom's dad) as well.

Bachan asked Christ to come into her heart late in life. Grandpa Mike has known and loved Jesus for much of his life. The beauty of God's love is that it doesn't matter when you begin to follow Him.

I will say more later but for now we are saddened by this great loss and also grateful for the impact they left on our lives. I somehow ended up scrolling through iPhotos so instead of giving a house update, here we are, because this is where my heart is tonight.

It's fall and I am here for it.

Reputation

There seems to be a disproportionate level of commitment asked of preschool parents considering Emerson only goes to school half days. Playdates, mom's coffee get togethers, parties, parent homework, PA meetings, volunteering, new parent dinners, preschool moms brunch, open house, back to school, and so on. It is a full time job.

Save me!

But also, it's interesting to get a peak into the lives of others. I've been to five homes of other families from our school in the last two weeks. It's like a personal tour from Robin Leach of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

By far the most snooping worthy was this estate that had a lower level just for a half court and views of the canyon and ocean, pool, movie room, and monogramed paper napkins to dry your hands in the powder rooms.

Josh and I drove up in our somewhat clean CRV. Even better, my sister and husband came in their old broken down Camry. The door doesn't work so I'm pretty sure she had to climb in/out of the drivers side. MOVE ASIDE Mercedes, Audi's, and Range Rovers.

What was actually embarrassing, out of the 100 people who attended this New Parent Dinner the Head of Admissions welcomed us by saying, "Oh! Welcome! The only two who came to every single orientation, info session, and group tour we offered last year."

Building our reputation, one crazy act after another.
